Pagan’s Pole was over the moon to be asked to perform and demonstrate at Wylfa Power Station’s ‘Work Hard, Play Hard’ open day. The day was designed to generate interest in Health and Exercise and consisted of numerous genres and regimes of exercise, from Salsa, Weight Lifting and even Cannon Firing, indeed it proved to be an all out action packed event!
The girls were able to demonstrate their art and dismiss the stereotypical view of pole dancing. There were gasps from the crowds as tricks were performed, while others couldn’t wait to get their hands on the pole and try for themselves. The variety of people present covered all ages, and every generation had a swing or a spin, from 5 year olds to Grandmas, the pole seemed to appeal to all.
The pole held a particular appeal to a very talented group of teenage lads. Blessed with an innate strength and lack of fear, we were impressed by the sheer determination and hard work these lads put into practicing the moves we taught. We were not the only ones impressed. The the local Leisure Centre was so impressed by the youths enthusiasm and dedication that classes are subsequently being arranged to give these youngsters a hobby and activity to participate in.
With a great deal of other parties also demonstrating an interest in pole fit classes, we have hopefully been able to impress upon the public the many benefits of our sport!
Many thanks to Wylfa for such a fantastic opportunity to display our sport!
